Pelaqita Persians

The leaves are glorious in their shades of gold and red around our property. In fact, our maples have almost no leaves left - poor bare things! This morning there's a nip in the air, and I can hear our rooster outside crowing with delight! Little does he know that soon he will be freezing his little fanny off. However, he has his harem of hens to keep him warm and comfy!
Holiday Dangers
Special dangers await your cat during the Holidays. Thousands of cats are seriously injured and/or become deathly ill, even die each year during the Holidays which would put a damper on any Holiday season. During this busy time of year, we often forget about our four-legged family members during all the Holiday festivities. Our cats are just as curious and anxious about the Holidays as we are. Their curiosity may very well get them into serious trouble.

What is the Feline Herpes Virus (FHV)?

Cat with herpes virus
The feline herpes virus most commonly infects kittens and causes sneezing, ocular and nasal discharge, and a reluctance to eat and play. With good nursing care, the vast majority of kittens return to normal within 3 weeks. Vaccinated kittens may still develop the disease, but the illness is less severe. Approximately 80% of FHV infected cats become latent carriers with a 45% chance of viral re-activation. Adult cats with eye disease due to FHV are more likely to be suffering from viral re-activation than from a primary FHV infection. .....

Cat O'Month
Hi, Susan....

I wanted to send you a note letting you know how grateful we are for Hot Rod! When I contacted you and let you know that I was interested in getting another Persian, you were quick to help and let me have little Hot Rod. Derreck and I are so appreciative as he is so much fun and such a joy to have around.

He has soooooo much personality! He's quite a character! He has adjusted quickly to our home and to us. He sits on my lap when I am typing at the computer, I call out his name and he comes running, I ask him how his day was and he answers with a thoughtful long look as if he's thinking about it and then replies with a "meow". When I announce "Hot Rod! Treat!" He comes charging and sits on my lap while I try to keep up with his constant chopping and readiness for another treat!

I already love him dearly and he is quite a little companion. He's great company and there is never a dull moment with him. He is still a kitten and loves to play and explore. Again, thank you. I will always be in debt to you for such a wonderful friend and companion that I have with Hot Rod.
