Exciting Changes Coming to Personal Physicians!
Going Live on Epic

On October 1st, we will be officially converting our office's electronic records to Epic, the system used by BJC and Washington University. Your office notes and labs will now be available for you to view in MyChart and will be accessible to your other BJC physicians as well. In addition, once you have had an office visit with us, you will be able to send us secure messages through MyChart. Due to its increased security and easy integration with your chart, MyChart will be our preferred method of communication. Overall, switching to Epic will enhance your continuity of care, provide you with access to your medical information, enhance your ability to communicate efficiently and securely with us, and allow you to view your upcoming appointments.

While all of us at Personal Physicians have spent the last 3 months working hard at learning these new systems, we suspect that there will be some hiccups and delays in the first few weeks of this transition. Please keep that in mind when you engage the office in October.

Our front desk workflow will change a bit in order to ensure your information is up to date in the BJC system. This will require a longer check-in process. Please be patient with our staff. To avoid delaying your appointment, we're asking that you arrive 10-15 minutes early for your appointment your first visit after October 1st. This will greatly assist with this process and allow you more time with your doctor.

In order for your lab results to show in MyChart, your lab orders will now be entered into Epic. This requires your order to be signed off by a physician so it can be electronically received by Quest or a BJC lab. Therefore, if you require blood work, you will have to have a scheduled appointment. We will not be able to accommodate walk-ins as your doctor may be tied up and unable to sign the orders at that time. For this same reason, any labs ordered by an outside physician will need to be sent to us at least 24 hours before your lab appointment.

Rest assured, the short-term inconveniences will be heavily outweighed by the long-term benefits and improvements of integrated care!

New Doctors

We are very happy to announce that Dr. Scott Groesch will be joining Personal Physicians on March 1, 2025. Dr. Groesch, an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Washington University, has practiced Internal Medicine at the Maryland Medical Group for 27 years.  He will be converting his traditional practice to our concierge style. We are excited to have such an experienced, thoughtful and personable physician join us.

Dr. Jacqueline Fairchild’s practice continues to grow since starting full-time with us in July. Thank you for referring so many of your family and friends. She remains available to meet prospective patients or get started as their personal physician.

We are Moving

After 20 years at our present location, we are moving down the street to 11475 Olde Cabin Road, Suite 120. We anticipate this will occur in early 2025. We have been working closely with architects and interior designers to ensure the office continues to have the same upscale, intimate and comfortable feel that you have come to expect. We will provide additional information regarding the move as it draws near.

Change to On-Call Schedule
Starting in October, the on-call physician will handle urgent medical issues and care for hospitalized patients from Friday at 5pm until Sunday at 9pm. Simply call the office phone number, 314-993-1200, and it will direct you to the proper physician. Emails and texts will also be directed to the on-call physician. Please be assured that the on-call physician discusses all patient interactions with your personal physician at the end of the call period, or sooner if it requires specific input for an ongoing situation.
Payment Methods

Paying by check?  Please remember to write your invoice number and/or indicate the patient the check is written for in the memo line. This helps make sure the payment is applied to the correct patient's account.

Online payment?  Bill.com has updated their patient-facing website to make online payments even easier. You will hopefully find this update removes some of the pain points you may have experienced. Now the easiest way to pay is by clicking the "View and Pay Invoice" button within your email. This will give you the option to pay by ACH or credit card and directly links the payment to your invoice.  Or you can also open the PDF attachment in your email and then go to the website listed within your invoice. This route will just have the additional step of logging in to your account first in order to link your payment to that invoice.

As always, if you have any questions, please reach out to ask.

Important Notice

Please be aware, our main office line, 314-993-1200, is unable to receive text messages. If you're intending to text your doctor but accidentally text this number instead, your message will not be received. Please double check the number you are texting before hitting send. As a reminder, the preferred method of communication going forward will be MyChart.
