Jack Overman 1918-2018
The eternal cheerleader passed away. Jack H. Overman died on Saturday, Dec. 8, at age 100.

Long-Distance Musical Friendship
In a Brazilian town where some don’t have indoor plumbing, Arley Franca, a fireman and musician, talked his boss into allowing him to start an instrumental music program for children. Five thousand miles away at PSU, University Professor Craig Fuchs began using translated emails to forge a friendship with Franca and his transformational program.

Stahl earns fifth degree from PSU
When Tracy Stahl first started college at PSU as a bright-eyed, energetic freshman in 1985, she chose Marketing as her field of study. She was actively involved in campus in numerous organizations, earned honors, and had a positive experience. But it wasn’t what she was meant to do.

Pittsburg State University’s College of Education has chosen Derek Holmes, principal at Concordia Elementary School in Concordia, Kansas, for the Distinguished Service Administrator award.

Pittsburg State University’s College of Education has chosen Marcia Base, special education teacher at Andover Middle School in Andover, Kansas, for the Distinguished Service Teacher award.
