Alumni and friends will come together on March 2nd to support PSU during our 24-hour giving campaign, Gorilla Giving Day. This unique fundraising event is the perfect opportunity to show your Gorilla pride by supporting the programs and priorities most meaningful to you.

A public reception will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, March 2nd at the Wilkinson Alumni Center to honor Tony Perez and Larry Weis, the recipients of this year’s Dr. Ralf J. Thomas Distinguished Service Award.

University Mourns Passing of Seventh President

The seventh president of Pittsburg State University, John Darling, passed away Monday, February 17th. Darling was appointed president on January 1, 1996. 

Four State Farm Show Moves to PSU

The show brings 20,000 visitors in three days and has more than $1 million in economic impact annually. This year’s show will take place May 29-31, with vendor booths set up inside the Robert W. Plaster Center, and larger machinery and outdoor displays set up on asphalt and grassy areas nearby.

PSU Creates New $1,000 Scholarship for grads of Crawford County High Schools

The Office of Admission announced the creation of the Gorilla Promise Award for May 2020 graduates of all Crawford County high schools to defray the cost of their first year of higher education.

Angels Among Us Chosen for Partners in Progress Award

During the 35th Annual Community Campaign Kick-Off, Angels Among Us — now 300 volunteers strong and 20 years old— was recognized as the recipient of the 15th Annual Rex Crowley Outstanding Partner in Progress Award.
