 Earth Day, April 22

The subject of the average amount of wasted water in a single-family was recently brought up at a Rich-Tomkins team meeting. If  you had to guess how many gallons a single-family home wastes waiting for the water to get hot, what would you guess?

With the recent drought developments in California and Earth Day just over a week away, now is as good a time as any to think about how all of us can use products that make a positive impact on the environment.

To answer the question above- 9,000 gallons of water are wasted every year in the average home while waiting for water to get hot- so how can we reduce that number?

Try WaterSense labeled products- shower heads, lavatory faucets and water efficient kitchen faucets from Delta, Brizo, Peerless and Newport Brass. Use the Uponor Logic System to plumb new construction or re-pipe older buildings for a more efficient water way. Try radiant heating and cooling and don't forget about the new energy efficient water heaters and boilers from Bradford White.

If all else fails, be sure to recycle!
Manufacturer Updates
Plenty of updates this month! Be sure to check out all our manufacturers have to offer.

Bradford White:
We know this is a re-print from the March newsletter, but we figure a re-read won't hurt anyone.

Be sure to update and educate yourself about the soon-to-be-here DOE changes to some water heaters. Bradford has placed spec sheets online, made a handy-dandy conversion website  and has lots of information on anything related to DOE changes. Visit for the information.

Bradford White has announced the new warranty policy for replacing older model water heaters with new model water heaters. Check at your favorite supply house or talk to your Rich-Tomkins rep for the full details.

Rich-Tomkins is hosting a blow-out sale on all of the in-stock Foremost items. Wholesalers were sent the pricing on April 8. Let us know if you need a copy again. Inventory is limited so get orders in quickly!

Be sure to check out the two features from pme magazine. Ecoflex was voted the top product of 2014!

In sports news, Vitra's women's volleyball team won the 2015 European Champions League

Wade launched a redesign of their website on April 8. You may need to clear out our browser cache to see the new format. Be sure to visit If you see any missing information, let Sarah Waple know and she will pass on to Wade.

Do You Like Treehouses?

Check out one of the newest custom treehouses in PA when you tune into Animal Planet's Treehouse Masters on April 17 at 10 pm.

Now, we do love a good construction show, but that's not why we are sharing this information.

Delta sponsored Treehouse Masters' "Ultimate Treehouse Giveaway" and the big reveal is the episode on the 17th. The fun part is Rich-Tomkins sent Sarah Waple to be the Delta expert and can be seen in the episode.

Find how just how much Delta technology one can cram into a treehouse and get to put a face to the person who sends you all of these Rich-Tomkins emails.

Please help us in welcoming the newest Rich-Tomkins team member Alan Kershaw. Alan joins Rich-Tomkins with over 36 years of experience from the wholesale side of the business. He has done just about everything- purchasing agent, working the counter, inventory management and too many other jobs to list. You can reach Alan at and 610-859-6069.

Alan will be taking over the line responsabilities that Pete Ponton had as Pete's last day with Rich-Tomkins will be April 30. Pete joined Rich-Tomkins from Grothaus Sales when the two merged back in 2012. Pete helped transition all of the lines from Grothaus Sales into Rich-Tomkins and has been a great teacher to the inside and outside team members.
