RideWise promotes e-bike safety awareness 🚲

Just in time for the holidays, RideWise partnered with the Warren Township Police Department to deliver a meaningful holiday gift to Warren Middle School students- the gift of e-bike safety.

 

The presentation titled “Is an E-Bike on Your Wishlist?”  highlighted the rise in e-bike-related crashes, the importance of following the rules of the road, and factors to consider when buying an e-bike. It reached approximately 500 students, providing them with essential information for safe decision-making during the holiday season.

RideWise educates driver's education students at North Plainfield High School  🚗

Did you know that January is Teen Driver Awareness Month?

 

In recognition of this important safety month, RideWise visited North Plainfield High School and delivered nine presentations to students enrolled in driver's education classes. The sessions covered pedestrian safety, bicycle safety, and the rules of the road.

 

Students learned the importance of following the rules of the road, their responsibilities as new drivers, and the consequences of bad decisions. 

 

By participating in both large and small group activities, students took part in interactive games, including exercises with drunk goggles that demonstrated how impaired driving affects judgement.

RideWise brings Safety Town to West End Elementary School🦺

 

"Look left, look right and left again before crossing the street."

 

This was one of the key safety tips shared by team members Reese Lewin, Olivia Allegra, and Sarah Chelli with students through "Safety Town"- an interactive educational experience for young children.

 

The team demonstrated that it's never too early to learn safety habits. Students joined in on "street smart" Q&A games where they practiced identifying road signs and crosswalks, all while having fun and learning valuable lessons.

Learning how to navigate Somerset County at Bridgewater-Raritan High School🏫

 

RideWise paid a visit to Bridgewater-Raritan High School to teach ESL (English as a Second Language) students essential transportation knowledge and practical travel skills.

 

Team members Sarah Chelli and Olivia Allegra shared helpful information and resources regarding public transportation with Ms. Picchio's students.The students learned how to ask for directions, read schedules, and access common destinations like Raritan Valley Community College, Target, and the Bridgewater Commons Mall. The goal of the session was to give students the confidence to use public transportation in everyday life.

RideWise becomes EVAL Certified and participates in "Wheels and Watts" Webinar  🎉📅

 

We're excited to share some fantastic news-- RideWise has officially earned a bronze-level EVAL certification! Backed by the U.S. Department of Energy, this national employer EV readiness certification recognizes organizations that are leading the charge for clean transportation and making it easier for employees to switch to electric vehicles.

 

RideWise recently teamed up with EZ Ride to host the webinar, "Wheels and Watts-Powering EV Charging for Local Government". The webinar was filled with valuable information on the benefits of EV charging for local governments and municipalities. Attendees learned about the benefits of EV workplace charging and heard real-world success stories. Sean Castellano, Sustainable Transportation Specialist for RideWise and one of the speakers, covered key insights about the EVAL certification, EV installation site strategies, tax credits, and grants.
