Background
Last week, a video went viral showing police shooting Jacob Blake, an unarmed Black man who lives in Kenosha, Wis., seven times in the back. Mr. Blake was helping to de-escalate a situation in his community when the police arrived and the video shows Mr. Blake walking away from officers with weapons drawn as bystanders yelled in the background moments before he was shot.
Details
Mr. Blake has survived the seven gunshots; however, despite being paralyzed, local police have restrained him by handcuffing him to his hosptal bed. Meanwhile, the officer who shot Jacob Blake has still not been charged.
Call to Action
As people of faith, we must continue to take prophetic action to combat the continuous injustices in our world. We must demand that all the police officers involved be held accountable! Please contact local and state officials in Kenosha, Wisconsin, to demand justice for Jacob Blake:
