In 2020 voter suppression is a disturbing reality affecting people of color as they try to exercise their right to vote. Eligible voters are being purged from voter rolls, and tactics such as strict new voter id laws, reduction in polling places, locating them in places that are difficult to reach, reduction in the number of days for early voting, voter intimidation, are all used to discourage voters and sow confusion.

Reclaim Our Vote (ROV), a non-partisan campaign founded by the Center for Common Ground in Virginia, is working hard to get out the vote of people of color in voter suppression states like Georgia, Alabama, Virginia, Texas, Mississippi, and North Carolina. Voters are provided with very specific instructions on how to register, early voting, voting by absentee/mail in ballot and election day voting. ROV partners with organizations such as the NAACP, Mi Familia Vota, Black Voters Matter and others.
ROV was launched in 2017 and has reached over a million voters since then, making a difference in states like Alabama, Georgia and North Carolina. In the last stretch to the 2020 November election ROV is reaching voters through phone banking.
