THESIS PROJECT OPPORTUNITY: Drs. Ferguson and Pekgun at the Darla Moore School of Business are working on a project with Oracle regarding the optimization of food supply to disaster relief centers. They are looking for honor students who would be interested in working with them on this project as their thesis. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to both work with a company and to contribute to something that will truly make a difference in people's lives. INTERNSHIP: The South Carolina Department of Education provides students with an opportunity to learn more about South Carolina’s public education system and gain insight into state government. The internship runs during the fall, spring and summer semesters.
From DoEd: We are looking for an enthusiastic communications and marketing intern to join our communications office and provide creative ideas to help achieve our goals. South Carolina Department of Education interns assist with a wide variety of administrative and public relations tasks while working with various office directors, deputies and the State Superintendent. To be considered for an internship, applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program, available to work a minimum of 12 plus hours per week and have 3.0 or higher GPA. SUMMER SMITH TAYLOR INTERNSHIP AWARD: The Summer Smith Taylor Internship Award supports Honors College students engaged in internships where technical writing is a substantial part of their job duties. Students must be in good standing with the South Carolina Honors College to be eligible. To apply, the student must submit a one-page letter of intent to the Director of Internship Programs explaining why he/she should be considered, how he/she would benefit from the scholarship, and a copy of the internship job description.
