Pastides Sustainability Scholarship

This award, created by President Harris Pastides and Patricia Moore-Pastides, recognizes an undergraduate student who has truly effected Sustainability at USC. Students may self-nominate, or be nominated by the USC community of students, staff or faculty. Nominations should address how the student has made an impact in one or more of the following areas related to sustainability: scholarship, leadership, and/or engagement. Deadline 2/22. More here.  

MIT Summer Opportunity
For STEM, humanities and other disciplines
Join a team of dedicated instructors, teaching assistants, residential advisors and mentors to help empower passionate high school seniors from across the country to develop the confidence and skills needed to pursue careers in STEM. More here.

Summer 2019 ethnographic research project
This summer project in Detroit, Michigan will emphasize the experiences that low-income people of color and immigrants have with urban “revitalization.” Students may earn 8 university credits for participation. Founded by SCHC young alumni, Further Together Columbia is a new community outreach group focused on bringing students younger than 25 and adults older than 50 together to connect, communicate, and learn.  More here.
