B.A. English, University of South Carolina (with minors in Theatre and Women and Gender Studies)
Majors You Advise:
Computer Engineering and Computer Science, Business, Political Science, History, English, Global Studies—and I learn something new from each one!
Fun Facts:
I had a terrific time when I was in your shoes—a student at USC. Although I may age myself with The Office references, it really wasn’t all that long ago! While here, I got to spend time intervening in human trafficking in Thailand, singing in front of a lot of fellow Gamecocks in the Homecoming Showcase, and serving as president of my sorority. Now, I mostly fill my time reading histories of all kinds and running around with my husband Jake and dog Bambi. (And if you do come into my office and begin reciting dialogue from The Office, I will carry on the conversation with you. Try me.)
Favorites:
Food…Pepperoni pizza
Color…Yellow
Events…The homecoming football game, shows at local theatres, SC Philharmonic concerts
Ice Cream…Anything from Sweet Cream on Main (you have to go there!)
Movie…When Harry Met Sally
Book… Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy
Why do you love working at the Honors College?
As the coordinator of service learning, I treasure seeing students put their bright minds to use solving community issues. I enjoy talking with students who want to run for office to reshape their worlds, who want to develop computer technology to make life better for others, or who travel to share knowledge far and wide. Our students truly are special.
