The Waverly After-School Program has earned the top statewide honor for student service organizations! President Emily Fisher accepted the South Carolina Student Service Achievement Award from Campus Compact. It's Food for Fines week! The Gamecock Pantry is partnering with Thomas Cooper Library to support USC students. Bring non-perishable food items to the Circulation Desk at Thomas Cooper Library and receive $3 off any fine per item you donate! If you don't have fines, you can still donate at the library's front desk!

• One of the best times to jump-start self-improvement is over the summer, and reading books outside is one of the most enjoyable ways to do it. The 2018 First Year Reading Experience book is  A More Beautiful Question by Warren Berger. Check out the list of books from previous years here. 

• We all love relaxing while listening to music, but why not stimulate your thinking by listening to people discuss a variety of topics? USC's own  Garnet Media’s podcast network features six podcasts that cover a variety of subject matter, from entertainment to audio storytelling.

• Trying to get ahead and put your life together on top of classes and homework will only lead to stress, so using the summer to think about your future can be a good use of your time. Research the opportunities for  study abroad, internships, and national fellowships!
