Community, Exchange, & Mentorship –

three ingredients necessary for students of the arts to flourish creatively in a non-judgmental environment.

.

REPRESENTATIONAL DRAWING
with

Joshua Langstaff

(SA 5)

Joshua Langstaff presents a great approach to Representational Drawing (SA 5). First, he introduces students to the time-tested methods of Classical realist drawing, rooted in traditional Atelier training. Students who have taken the instructor’s earlier foundational drawing courses, are welcome to pursue more advanced projects such as cast drawings, master copies, still life studies or even personal subjects drawn from photo reference. This is a way to study drawing with a master and really learn how to draw the subject of your next painting. Joshua also offers Classical Figure Drawing (& Painting) (SA 8).

SCULPTURE!

Antoinette Schultze’s Hand Carving: Wood or Soft Stone (SA 19) is perfect to take for an artistic voyage into the third dimension. Meeting at her Eliot studio, this vibrant sculptor offers her expertise as you learn to visualize and block out the object of your choice.

Painting!

Tom Glover offers Lab Doors are Always Open (SA 1).

This class is for painters with painting problems. Bring in paintings you have been struggling with, or a new painting you might have been struggling with. Commiserate with other artists as you discuss, share, and together come up with new ideas and approaches.

 Drawing Nature!

Explore the natural world through sketching and drawing with Carol Morley in her Drawing Nature

(SA 9) class. Capture the diverse and intriguing shapes of plants and other natural forms with colored pencil or mixed media. Learn observational drawing, tonal studies, composition and how to create a colored palette to complete the chosen piece.  Open to any level.

Creativity flourishes most abundantly when shared!
