Alice Carroll
Alice Carroll offers her Jewelry & Metalsmithing (SA 18) 10 week class as well as two Saturday workshops Bezel Set Seaglass Ring (SA 19) and Rivet & Texture Workshop (SA 20). Alice received her MFA from Rochester Institute of Technology and was selected to be an artist in residence at Penland School of Crafts. You can tell Alice loves teaching. She is generous with her knowledge and patient with all levels of beginners. Her students always come away from her classes with beautiful pieces they can wear immediately.
Figure Painting in Oil with Sydney Sparrow
Sydney Bella Sparrow offers her usual stellar Figure Painting in Oil (SA 6). Learn to create realistic, vibrant paintings from life with a master painter. Each student will receive lessons in color mixing, palettes, surfaces, and composition, as well as learning to more fully understand hue, value, and chroma. Proceed from drawing, to an under painting, to a glowing finished piece, as you learn the skills to create your own masterful still life paintings.
Beginner Spin Session with Kim Hanson
Kim Hanson joins us with her Beginner Spin Session (SA 17). Come get acquainted with our ceramics studio and learn the basics of throwing clay on the pottery wheel, as well as trimming pieces, surface decoration, and the process of glazing and firing in our electric and gas kilns. Kim has been training extensively with professional potter Lindsey Howarth who also teaches at Sanctuary Arts.
