Carol Ann Morley teaches The Pleasure of Sketching (SA 9) and it is truly a pleasure to study with this acclaimed British artist. Carol began her career as a medical illustrator and the became a botanical illustrator. I don't know of a more gifted artist who can truly help novices learn the relaxed art of loose sketching, perfect for sketching places visited or scenes glimpsed. Carol also offers Colored Pencil Techniques (SA 10), a one day workshop. Exploring and experimenting with this medium is a great way to get to know the language of color and pencil techniques. Carol is one of the best color instructors, showing how colors can harmonize together or create great contrast, recede into a background or appear to advance in space. Carol's forte' is Botanical Drawing (SA 7) which she offers for 8 weeks on Thursdays, 2 – 5. Come learn from her how to portray the characteristics of plants through observation and drawing exercises. All of Carol's classes are suitable for any level.
