Jewelry & Metalsmithing (SA 20) taught by Alice Carroll still has room for more students. Alice loves to teach her passion. She considers teaching classes as an art form, and enjoys every moment in the studio with students. She produces and sells her work, using her classes as an inspiration. Alice also offers one day workshops. This semester includes Hand Fabricated Metal Bead (SA 21) and Torch Fired Enamel Pendant (SA 22). Students leave her workshops happy and with a sense of accomplishment as they display their endeavors to each other at the workshop’s conclusion.

Botanical Drawing

Carol Ann Morley is a local and national treasure. A botanical illustrator, she teaches in depth drawing techniques in graphite and colored pencil. Her Botanical Drawing (SA 8) class begins Thursday February 20 from 10 – 1. She teaches color mixing with colored pencils as you learn how to portray the characteristics of plant through observation and drawing exercises. Carol is one of the best drawing instructors I have ever encountered. She also teaches The Pleasure of Sketching (SA 1), sharing her love of loose sketching and unfinished drawings. Drawing Spring Flowers (SA 9) is her 4 week workshop in April that gives students a taste of spring as they work in graphite or colored pencils and learn how to observe the beauty natural forms.

Winter Classes and Workshops Available for Procrastinators

(for all who are Vaccinated )

http://www.sanctuaryarts.org

There are still some classes and workshops available for those who have put off registering. Art making is a great way to combat winter doldrums. The instructors at Sanctuary Arts are noted for their expertise and for their kindness. It’s a terrible thing to be chastised because you don’t already know how to do the thing you are paying to learn. Instructors at Sanctuary Arts are chosen for their mastery and passion for their chosen field. But most of all, they are chosen because they are able to relate to students and are delighted to share their considerable expertise.
