Carol Ann Morley offers an unusual class- Botanical Drawing; Rendering with Pen & Ink (SA 9). A consummate botanical artist, Carol is awesome with pen and ink and is ready to teach you her techniques with the crow quill pen. Have fun exploring the variety of pen and ink techniques and experiment adding color and mixed media to your drawings.

Carol Morley is also offering Drawing Spring Flowers (SA 10) as well as Building Drawing Skills (SA 2).

Figure Sculptor Anthony Alemany offers Sculpting the Figure from Life (SA 18). Working with a live model on a long pose, students will work at 1/3rd scale for 10 sessions. Anthony is a great armature builder, anatomist, and gifted figure sculptor. He's just received a large commission and is well on his way to living the sculptor's dream- making an actual living doing what he loves to do. Classical Figure Painting

Of special interest is a Classical Figure Painting (SA 12) class taught by master figure painter, Joshua Langstaff. Joshua was a student, protege and now co- teacher with Juliette Aristides, a well known artist and best selling art-instruction author with almost rock star popularity in the contemporary world of representational art. The depth of Joshua's figure painting knowledge is available to be plumbed in this 10 week Friday morning class. He also is teaching a 4 day Classical Portrait Drawing Intensive (SA 1) running January 14 – 17.

Birds, Flying Towards Spring

Birds, Flying Towards Spring (SA 4) is one of Tom Glover's new offerings in a ten week course on Monday evenings. Trying to capture the beauty of birds, their habitats, and structures while working from photos, sketches, and researching how our aviary friends played a role in the world of art will be the task before us. All mediums are accepted and all levels are welcome, from beginners to pros.

Contemplative Art Practices

Sean Kramer returns to offer his wisdom in Contemplative Art Practices (SA 5). Working with our body, breath and mind, Sean will guide students through a variety of contemplative art practices: mandalas and yantras, spontaneous and intuitive art making, working with symbols, drawing our journey, surrealist techniques, and more. A former monk, Sean has so much to offer the student seeking to work meditatively.

Jewelry & Metalsmithing

with Alice Carroll

Jeweler Alice Carroll offers a couple of Saturday workshops- Linked Bracelet (SA 21) and Bezel Set Sea Glass or Beach Stone Ring (SA 22). No experience is necessary to take these workshops. I've watched total beginners make gorgeous pieces in just a few hours with Alice's encouragement and ability to make technical processes seem simple. Alice also offers two sessions of her regular Jewelry & Metalsmithing (SA 20) classes.
