Pizza Party!!!

July 31st Pizza Party fundraiser

On July 31st from 5 – 8 we are hosting a fundraiser for our Sanctuary Arts Connects scholarship program. We will be serving pizzas made in our lovely gas fired ceramics kiln. Don Severance brings his guitar and will serenade us with his usual musical grace. Satigata, a Buddhist band, will also enliven the atmosphere with their eclectic and energizing sound. A $10 suggested donation will get you all the pizza you can eat and a guaranteed night of good fun and comraderie.

York Library Hosts Show of Sanctuary Arts Instructors

Sanctuary Arts’ instructors have been invited to hang a show at the York Library. It’s up now for two months, and I must say, looks terrific. The closing for this show will be August 24th from 4 – 6, with instructors talking about their work and their classes for our Fall semester. Here is just a sample of some of the work hanging there. It truly showcases the high caliber of these working artists.

Plein Air- Break it Down

"Nubble on the Rocks" by Alastair Dacey

Has your painting ever felt out of control? Do you get frustrated by not knowing what to fix or adjust when you are outside painting? Spots are still available in Alastair Dacey’s Plein Air- Break it Down (SA 5C) class which meets Wednesdays 9 – 12 beginning July 7th. Alastair will guide you through making methodical decisions, helping you see the broad note of color rather than the small note, laying  in proportions, working with tonal and value studies, being precise in relating one color note to another.
