SUMMER DREAMS; Making Dream Note Cards with

Carol Morley (SA 4)

Using summer as our theme, one card will be about the loveliness of a summer landscape and the other the beauty of a summer garden. The card design will include a letter of the alphabet as a framework for your illustration. Carol Morley will supply the illuminated letters to start you off and you will reference your own landscape and flower pictures. Once the design of the illuminated letter is complete, you will then finish the illustration with your favorite art medium. Now you are ready to photograph your cards and email them to family and friends. This class meets online through Zoom.

En Plein Air Landscape Painting Workshop

with Sean Beavers (SA 1)

This workshop is designed to teach students the fundamentals of painting on location through the study of light, color, value and atmosphere through close observation of nature along with a look at tools and techniques. With an understanding of these principles students can more easily meet the challenges of plein air painting: working directly from nature, constantly changing light, and capturing the essence of a landscape quickly. Each session will be split into two parts, an in studio or zoom (depending on safest practices known at the time), discussion of materials and techniques, and painting on location in the seacoast area. Students will need a portable easel, painting supplies, drinking water, food and sun protection.
