Take Colored Pencil Skills with Carol Ann Morley, the perfect way to enhance your color skills in a beautiful medium that is so transportable. Carol’s 3 week class meets Thursdays from 2 – 5, March 19 – April 2. This class focuses on problem solving to achieve the colors you want in your art work. Begin with making colored palettes to explore what hue, value, and chroma mean. Explore colors that are intense, subdued, warm and cool and those that will give depth and contrast. All levels are welcome in this class with a color master.

Carol Morley also offers Drawing Spring Flowers, a 4 week class on Thursdays from 2 – 5 from April 9 – 30. This is a perfect way to celebrate the arrival of Spring. From bud to open flower, learn how to observe the beauty of natural forms through a series of sketches as you create a pleasing composition for a more finished rendering. Beginning students may work in graphite and more advanced students in colored pencils or the medium of your choice.

   

  

   

Classical Figure Drawing 
Classical Figure Drawing with master figure artist Joshua Langstaff meets for 7 weeks, Thursdays 6 – 9 from March 19 through May 7 (no class April 2). This class offers a focused, immersive experience in representational figure work. Practice your skills with short poses as you work from a live model to develop a sustained figure drawing over several weeks. Instruction emphasizes proportion, anatomy, and shaping light and shadow to create the illusion of form. Students with prior experience, particularly those who have worked with the instructor, may choose to work in oil paint. Joshua also teaches for Juliet Aristides online drawing and painting classes and we are very lucky to have him teaching here in person.
