Building Drawing Skills

Carol Ann Morley, our celebrated Botanical instructor, offers Building Drawing Skills (SA 2), an 8 week class beginning Monday, March 7th from 10 – 1. Build your confidence through step by step drawing exercises as you learn to have fun drawing the world around you. Contour drawing, shading to create depth and form, perspective and composition, acquiring observational skills, all are demonstrated in this supportive class.

Colored Pencil Techniques

Colored Pencil Techniques (SA 17) meets Saturday March 5th from 11 – 5. This one session class taught by Carol Morley is an excellent way to introduce yourself to the joys of working with colored pencils. Learn the language of color, pencil techniques, and develop your own creative ideas along the way.

Drawing Spring Flowers

Carol Morley's Drawing Spring Flowers (SA 10) meets Thursdays 2 – 5 for 4 weeks beginning April 14. Enjoy drawing the blossoms and flowers of Spring. From bud to open flower, students will learn to observe the beauty of natural forms through a series of sketches and create a pleasing composition for a more finished rendering. Work in graphite or colored pencils or the medium of your choice.

Watercolor Basics

Bill Paarlberg offers two Saturday morning watercolor workshops for beginners and those who want to brush up on their skills with this difficult and beautiful medium. Watercolor Basics for the Absolute (or Frustrated) Beginner (SA 13) meets Saturday March 12, 9 – 12. This class starts at the very beginning, with how to use a brush to grab water, how to use your palette, how to mix paint, and how to use your brush to make basic marks and washes.

Practical Watercolor Techniques

Practical Watercolor Techniques; Tactics & Inspiration for the Beginner/Intermediate (SA 14) meets Saturday April 2nd from 9 – 12. Do you have some experience with watercolor but find yourself unable to improve? Bill Paarlberg will lead you through a handful of practical working techniques and teach you some exercises that will immediately give you more control and confidence.
