Monoprinting (SA21), a two day workshop with Amanda Rouse begins June 1st. An exciting printing method that combines painting and drawing with stamping, transfers, and textures, monoprinting will become your new favorite way of working. Using water-based inks, come make painterly prints that are one of a kind.
New Ceramics classes
We have a number of ceramics classes available this summer. Brand new is Handbuilding with Clay (SA 24) taught by Julie Marvin. In this relaxed class designed for the curious, come explore basic construction methods, focusing on pinch pots and slab work. Learn how to use molds and templates along with stamps and sprigs for surface decoration and texturing as you learn to create humble tea bowls or exquisite sculptural forms.
We are happy to introduce Rebecca Emerson, a local potter who studied with Don Williams at the University of New Hampshire. Rebecca offers Intro to Ceramics (SA 23 A & B), 2 eight week classes perfect for first time potters or those who need a refresher. Kim Hanson returns to offer All Levels Wheel Throwing (SA 22 A & B). Go through the entire process of learning how to make pottery on the wheel. Intermediate students can learn more complex shapes, form altering and pulling handles.
Treasures from the Seashore with
Carol Morley
Botanical artist Carol Ann Morley returns with Treasures from the Seashore; Drawing with Colored Pencils (SA 7) and Colored Pencil Techniques (SA 9). Carol is the best colored pencil drawing instructor you could ever hope to study with. She is comprehensive with her technical instruction, gives wonderful critiques, and has a wealth of knowledge that she loves to share.
Hand Carving: Wood or Soft Stone

Antoinette Schultze returns to offer Hand Carving: Wood or Soft Stone (SA 20). Learn to visualize and trust what you see as you block out the object of choice in Wood/or Stone. Materials, the wood and grain direction, balance, and gravity of the stone and wood will all be discussed. This class takes place at Antoinette's sculpture studio in Eliot.
Jewelry with
Alice Carroll

Alice Carroll teaches Intro to Jewelry (SA 15), a beginner class on basic jewelry making techniques that covers traditional techniques and their variations, with some helpful bench tips. Come learn basic techniques such as sawing, soldering, riveting, forging, forming, and stone setting. More advanced students are welcome to come hone their techniques. Alice also offers workshops: Fold Forming (SA 16) and Bezel Set Sea Glass Pendant (SA 17).
