SaskMade Top Ten List

As we have closed 2012 and are embracing the opportunities of 2013, we would like to take a minute to say Thank-you to all of our customers, followers and partners. It has been two years since we have purchased the SaskMade store and began re-branding into what it is today. We can say with 100% honesty that the time has flown by and we are very blessed to have had your support along the way. We thought it might be fun to highlight some of the events of 2012 with our own SaskMade Top 10 List.

10. Trifecta, the official newsletter of the SaskMade Marketplace was launched! We are approaching the 1 year anniversary of Trifecta this February.

9. The beginning of our Monthly Vendor Tasting Events. Stay tuned for the 2013 upcoming tastings to meet those who produce our food.

8. Prairies North Magazine featured SaskMade in the Winter 2012 edition. Thanks for thinking of us Prairies North, we love your magazine and new website!

7. Fresh Produce showed up on our shelves in the spring, offering fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, potatoes, greens, herbs and many more. We can now fill your grocery basket with farm raised protein, whole grains, fresh produce and everything in-between!

6. We were very excited to be on a panel at the Saskatchewan Fruit Growers Annual Meeting, and really enjoyed a meal with Chef Anthony.

5. Our Twitter handle @SaskMadeMarket topped over 900 followers!

4. We launched a new monthly blog, “Sunday Dinner’s with Chef Simon”; where Chef Simon Reynolds shares some of his favourite, locally inspired family recipes.

3. We attended the Gold Medal Plates Event in Saskatoon tasting food prepared by Saskatoon’s finest chefs – many of whom cooked with products right from our shelves! Our newsletter contributor Amy Jo Ehman was a judge, as was CJ Katz, author of “Taste, Seasonal Dishes from a Prairie Table”. (And I met Jim Cuddy, a check mark off my bucket list ☺)

2. Our annual Kick-off to Christmas was a great day with tastings from Chef Theresa from Garlic Guru, Chef Elysia from Three Farmers, John from J & J Sausage and M & M Garlic! With support from our partners, we were pleased to donate over $500 to the Saskatoon Foodbank that day!

1. Our customers are our friends, our support, and our constant gut check to make sure we continue to be true to our local passion, deliver high customer service make every visit to SaskMade Marketplace like coming home. Thank-you to all, we are truly grateful.
