The Bach Akademie performance will be held in the Sanctuary. As in the past--
beverages are not allowed which includes covered containers.
Admittance to the Sanctuary will begin at 9:40.
Arguably the world's most famous musician, Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) produced over 1,100 pieces of music in his lifetime, a legacy that continues to inspire musicians and audiences around the globe. The "Bach Akademie" is a German term and tradition for a collection of musical events and other activities focusing on the study of Bach and his influence in his time and beyond.
Bach Akademie Charlotte is dedicated to presenting historically informed performances and to providing educational opportunities about Bach's music.
Scott Allen Jarrett is one of our nation's leading teachers and interpreters of the vocal works of Johann Sebastian Bach. He was appointed Artistic Director of the Bach Akademie Charlotte in July of 2017, with responsibility to build an annual cantata series and summer festival of national profile and reach for the Charlotte region. Off the podium, Jarrett is active as a talented baritone and keyboard player.
ON THE EVENING FOLLOWING THE MEETING
Senior Scholars are offered a 40% discount by using the discount code SSQ when purchasing tickets for the "Bach & The Golden Rule" full concert, 8 - 10 pm, at Christ Church Charlotte. |

Renewals are $20 per person and new memberships are $30 (includes $10 for your name tag). Checks should be made payable to Senior Scholars. Please bring the correct amount if paying in cash.
You can speed up the renewal process by having your green 2019 Membership Card and $20 in your hand when you come to the Membership Desk. It is not necessary to complete a membership form for renewals unless your address, phone number or email address has changed.
You can also renew or join by mail with a completed membership form. The mailing address is on the membership form
If you use mail you will need to stop by the Membership Desk to pick up your new membership card. Your membership card is what gets you in the door at our weekly meetings--it shows that you are a current member.
We have quite a few name tags...If we are holding yours please come get it. Your name tag lets us know who you are and as some of us have "senior moments". It is much easier to converse if we know your name. Please always wear your name tag. If the magnet is a problem for you we have a remedy.
Any questions can be directed to the membership chair, Sara Haymond, at shhaymond@aol.com.
