Continuing the tradition of the Steveston winter farmers’ market as a local attraction and a gathering place for our neighbouring community, the Cannery Farmers’ Market provides an opportunity for local food producers and artisans to showcase their products, which follow the “Make it, Bake it, Grow it, Catch it” philosophy. Only approved products that are made, baked, grown, raised, caught or harvested by B.C. vendors can be sold.

December 1 - 31, 2017 Steveston Festival of Trees
The Gulf of Georgia Cannery Society and Steveston Merchants Association present Steveston’s annual Festival of Trees, from December 1st to 31st, inside the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site. Local merchants and community groups will show off their creative talents by decorating their own festive trees, which will be on display inside the historic cannery, for a friendly competition to earn your votes*! The winning tree will be announced on December 18th at the Cannery Farmers’ Market. Bring a donation for the Richmond Food Bank to vote for your favourite tree.

December 2, 2017 2017 Annual Herring Sale - Fisherman Helping Kids with Cancer
Be sure to attend the annual Fisherman Helping Kids with Cancer Herring Sale where BC's commerical fishing industry come together for this worthy fundraiser.
Find the volunteers at the dock on Trites Road to stock up on herring starting at 8:00 AM. 100% of money raised is donated to kids who are being treated for cancer at BC Children's Hospital.

December 2, 9, 16 2017 Songs in the Snow: A Vintage Christmas
Songs in the Snow is a winter community concert series. The community is invited to enjoy vintage themed activities, crafts, and entertainment. For all ages, enjoy refreshments while listening to seasonal music provided by local school and community choirs groups. The series is held over three consecutive Saturdays in December (2nd, 9th & 16th). Presented by The Steveston Historical Society, together with the Richmond Arts Coalition and the City of Richmond. The community is invited to enjoy vintage themed activities, crafts, refreshments, and entertainment.

December 7, 8, 2017 Steveston Community Centre Winter Hayrides
Hop aboard this old-time favourite experience around Steveston Village that includes a sing-a-long and viewing of local holiday displays. $7 register at Steveston Community Centre today. *Trips leave at 30-minute intervals. This event is for All Ages. Snacks and hot chocolate available by cash donation. Children under one year old are free. Adults must regsiter and accompany children under 12 years old.
