UConn and Quinnipiac University aren’t the only Connecticut teams to win a national championship …

This past weekend, The Gaylord Wolfpack – Connecticut’s only sled hockey team – won the 2023 Adult Tier II Championship at the USA Hockey Disabled Hockey Festival in St. Louis, Missouri. The 11 athletes of the Gaylord Wolfpack bested teams from Illinois, North Dakota, North Carolina, Texas, California, and Missouri before their hard-fought final match against New Hampshire on Sunday that brought the National Championship banner home to the Gaylord Sports Association!

“We can't ask for a better way to end the season with such an amazing and talented team. Trevor Doyon and I have been coaching for three seasons now, and the level of player and team development in those years has been unbelievable and inspiring to watch," said Corey Podbielski, Gaylord Wolfpack coach.

"Some of these players drive over an hour each way for practices, sometimes as late as 10pm. They have been dedicated, passionate, and united throughout the whole season. We're proud to bring another national championship home to Connecticut!"

Congratulations, Wolfpack, and way to Think Possible!
