Ken Murphy Memorial Open Golf Tournament

The Gaylord Sports Association hosted their annual golf tournament, the Ken Murphy Memorial Open, on Monday, June 11, 2018 at the Farms Country Club. This event, which was started by Ken Murphy, the founder of the Gaylord Sports Association, brought together 14 golfers with a physical disability for a 9-hole competitive tournament. Golfers included members of the Sports Association Adaptive Golf Club, returning golfers, and several first time tournament participants! One of the participants was able to golf using a Paragolfer which is designed to allow golfers to golf from a standing position.

The tournament was followed by an awards luncheon which included golfers, volunteers, Gaylord staff, and members of the Murphy Family. Awards were given to the top 3 pairs and the golfer with the longest drive. The first place team was Bob Fox and Ray Radovich with a score of 38. Their names will be placed on the KMMO plaque which hangs in the recreation hall.
