Sports Association Newsletter

The Sports Association is dedicated to improving the lives of persons with physical disabilities through adaptive sports and recreation.

Dear Friends of the Sports Association,

Summer has arrived and we are excited to be outside for our programs!  Our Gaylord Golf Classic Fundraiser on June 14th was a big success and this Saturday, June 26th is the Gaylord Gauntlet 5K Trail and Obstacle Run!

We have a lot of great programs running right now including golf, archery and cycling!  And we have a NEW opportunity - Pickleball!  Join us on 6/29 to try this fun and easy paddle sport out on our tennis courts at Gaylord.  Our Paratriathlon Team has started practices and our Golf Club went out on their first outing this week!

We continue to follow policies and procedures to keep participants as safe as possible. If you are ready for in-person programs, we encourage you to join us!

Feel free to contact the Sports Association at 203-284-2772 or visit our website at www.gaylord.org/sports for more information on any of our programs.

All the best,

The Sports Association

Gaylord Golf Classic
We had another successful year at our annual Gaylord Golf Classic on June 14th at the Farms Country Club!  It started off a little rainy, but that didn't dampen our day!  We had an air cannon this year, plus lots of vendors out on the course making for a fun day for all the golfers!  A BIG thank you to all our sponsors, donors, golfers and the Gaylord Golf Classic Committee for supporing our cause and helping us to raise approximately $80K for the Gaylord Sports Association!
We also had a very special foursome at the event - Recent Gaylord graduates and COVID survivors!  Check out their story featured on Fox 61!
Sports Association Ambassadors
Fundraising Campaign

The Sports Association Ambassadors Fundraising Campaign was a success, raising over 4,500 dollars!  Thank you to the dedicated group of volunteer ambassadors who reached out to family and friends to raise money for the Sports Association!  The Sports Association is fully funded through individual donors, grants and fundraisers, and every donation helps to support our mission in providing adaptive sports and recreation to individuals with a physical disability. The campaign ran in conjunction with our premier fundraising event, the Gaylord Golf Classic.  Although this Campaign is over, donations can still be made at any time. Thank you to all our volunteer ambassadors who continue to advocate and work to support the Gaylord Sports Association!
