Move United, in partnership with The Hartford, is empowering youth and adults with disabilities to achieve amazing things by making adaptive equipment and sports more accessible. The program goal is to make a significant impact in adaptive sports by empowering 60,000 people, including youth and adults with disabilities, to participate sports and recreation over 10 years.
This opportunity is now open for Gaylord Sports Association athletes! Athletes may apply for a piece of adaptive sports equipment up to $5000.
Athlete Eligibility:
- Active participant with the Gaylord Sports Association with a physical disability or visual impairment
- Demonstrate a need and commitment, recreationally or competitively, to the sport for which they need equipment.
- Meet criteria for income based or elite athlete as established by Move United.

About Our Program and Events

The Sports Association is dedicated to improving the lives of persons with physical disabilities through adaptive sports and recreation. The Sports Association is a program of Gaylord Specialty Healthcare and is based out of Wallingford, CT. We are a chapter member of Move United. We serve individuals ages 16 and up with a physical disability or visual impairment.
