Sunrise Drive FFO Digest
Dec 21, 2016 - Vol. 2 Issue #4
Hello -

With the hustle and bustle of the holiday season all around us, please know that we appreciate all you do.

No General Meeting in December. See you at the next FFO General Meeting on Friday, January 27th!

During the break, Tim Colson will be switching sunriseffo.com over to sunriseffo.ORG - same great info, but now with a "dot org" twist and more flexibility. Feel free to check it out now.

Please remember to drive extra safe, especially in our parking lot, with the increase in traffic due to the hustle and bustle of the holidays right around the corner! And we always need volunteers to help students exit cars!

Happy Holidays!

Kate Spaulding (FFO President)

Sunrise Drive FFO

The FFO organizes, operates, and communicates to all families and faculty the many Sunrise, CFSD, and community programs and events. We also generate funding to support the vibrant learning environment and our programs and events.

We record all Meeting Agendas & Minutes online for public review.

Next general meeting is Friday, Jan 27 at 8:05 AM.

Grants at Work!
The FFO grants program expands Sunrise’s ability to meet educational needs. Teachers, staff, family and students submit grant proposals to the Grants Chair for review and exec approval to bring to the General FFO meeting for discussion and a deciding vote.

Volunteering at Sunrise
We need volunteers for events, fundraisers, and other activities that support the classrooms and build community at Sunrise. Please consider clicking the volunteer button to learn more. If you have questions, please email volunteer@sunriseffo.org
  • Sunrise Steppers – Join in the fun every Friday scanning the students (and teachers/staff) to count the laps as they run/jog/walk around the field as Ms. Dover encourages them to go "one more lap". Signup to be a Stepper Scanner
  • Lego Robotics – This special 6-week session is where Legos and Robots and math and reading and computer programing collide! Kids work in pairs to complete missions and gain skills. It's exciting and fun and Ms. Ackerman always appreciates parent volunteers that lend a hand. Don't worry, no robotic knowledged or computer experience is necessary! (This is not Skynet. ;-) Please check in with your teacher to find out when your childs class will be in the Robotics Lab.
  • Garden Club Sign-Up to help supervise students during lunch recess on Wednesdays.
If you've helped out already, you know how rewarding the experience can be, and if you haven't volunteered at Sunrise, please consider it today!

Steppers Update
Steppers
The kids have been running a lot of laps in Steppers on Fridays. In only four sessions, they collectively traveled 2,175 miles!

They look forward to more running, walking, and more tokens in the new year.

We can always use some parents to help
scan” the kids on each lap, so please check out the signup genius.
Thanks! Gigi Dover
