Message from the Principal
Dear Parents,
Patriots Day presented by the fourth grade, took place in their classrooms and in the Forum on Thursday. Students representing Paul Revere, George Washington, Ben Franklin, Betsy Ross and many, many more patriots gave formal presentations about their hero, while dressed in the appropriate costume. Tri-folds with drawings, maps, famous quotes and other pertinent information enhanced their projects. During the afternoon exhibits in the Forum, the students lined up along the sides so that visitors come by and hear their speech. I was thrilled with the number of parents, grandparents and other grade level classes who came by to take in these presentations. This is just another great example of the exciting way students learn at TCA. Please take time to enjoy the patriot pictures and the end of this newsletter.

In the Know at North Elementary
 The 21st Annual Art Show is Thursday, May 3rd from 6-8pm
We need donations as well as a crew to set up, serve and clean-up. Please see the many opportunities to assist & sign up for one or more spots. All dessert and drink donations should be dropped off in the office on May 3rd NO LATER THAN 4:30 pm. Please label all food donations if it is nut/gluten free. You may send your donation in with your child and ask them to bring it to the office.

Uniform Samples available from Tommy Hilfiger
Global Schoolwear/ Tommy Hilfiger has sent samples of their clothing to us so that parents can get an idea of sizing. You can stop by to check quality, style, and sizes for your students. A variety of size and clothing options are available now at TCA East from April 11 – April 27. Stop by the East Elementary office any time to see samples or have your child try on items. Ordering information is available as well. Call 719.282.1181 if you have questions.
"Buck A Bag" is our last fundraiser of the year! Spring clean your house, donate items to arc Thrift Stores and earn cash for TCA North Elementary during April 14-22, 2018. For every bag/box, we earn $1 for the school. Please use 13 gallon kitchen trash bags or average sized moving boxes. Drop off donations at 1815 Briargate Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80920 between 8am-6pm. Inform the donation attendant you're there to support TCA North Elementary!
 We need bottle tops!
Mrs. Takada is planning an El Anatsui inspired art piece and needs metal scalloped-edge caps. (Not the screw-on type) El Anatsui is a Ghanaian sculptor know for his "bottle-top installations." You can see his work at the Denver Art Museum. Drop them off at the office anytime. She needs THOUSANDS so there is no deadline. Thank you for helping her in this endeavor.

The North elementary PTO wanted to take this opportunity to reach out to each of you in an effort to help the communication here at TCA. Our hope is that all communication from the PTO will be established via this E-mail and text reminder process. In order to hear from the PTO you MUST opt in to receive E-mails. Follow the quick instructions below to do so.
1.) On your browser go to the TCA home page -

2.) On the top bar click on "schools"
3.) Scroll down and click on "TCA NORTH ELEMENTARY"
4.) Scroll to the middle of the page and click on the blue box that says "parent organizations"
5.) Towards the bottom of this page you will see the "North elementary email opt-In form "
6.) Simply fill it out with a good E-mail address and a phone number IF you wish to receive texts.
Once we have E-mails they will be added to the PTO list and we will communicate with you that way.
