Dear Parents,

Although we had to postpone the first and second grade music concert for two weeks, it was well worth the wait. The selection of jazz music that Ms. Kurth had these students present brought back great memories for me.  The enthusiasm of the children singing and dancing brought joy to the large audience.

After a late concert night, our second graders returned in their colorful outfits as they celebrated Immigration Day, my favorite curriculum day of the year.  Several things make this day special for the students.  Each child researched their ancestry with their families and learned what country their ancestors immigrated from and when they arrived in America.   We saw students from Norway, Uganda, Korea, China, Ethiopia, and Mexico, just to name a few countries.  They experienced coming into New York Harbor and seeing the statue of liberty. There were a number of exams the students had to complete, with the fear of possibly deportation if they failed.

We are thankful for the many parents who assisted with this day and made it a wonderful experience for their children.  It is a joy to partner with you in the well-rounded  education of your children.

3.) Scroll down and click on "TCA NORTH ELEMENTARY"
4.) Scroll to the middle of the page and click on the blue box that says "parent organizations"
5.) Towards the bottom of this page you will see the "North elementary email opt-In form "
6.) Simply fill it out with a good E-mail address and a phone number IF you wish to receive texts.
