Message from the Principal
Dear Parents,

One of the great things I love about the Classical Education that is offered at TCA is the fine arts program. While many schools around the country are finding these programs “too expensive”, students at North Elementary are thriving with a well-rounded education. The annual Art Show was held in the North forum and gymnasium this past week, with a piece of artwork from every elementary student exhibited. Art teachers, Mrs. Dierlam, Mrs. Reis and Mrs. Takada do an amazing job of teaching these young people many different mediums. I especially enjoy this art show because of the number of parents and grandparents who attend to enjoy the art work.

Thanks to all the volunteers who helped put art into frames and then mount them for display. Many parents also donated refreshments for the evening. Thank you everyone for making the whole evening a wonderful success.

One of the great benefits of being on a K – 12 campus is the opportunity for high school students to interact with elementary students. Several high school Biology students did heart and lung dissections with the 4^th grade classes. The hands-on opportunities our students experienced will stay with them for years.

Second grade enjoyed three days of "Around the World" where they experienced the cultures of China, Japan, India and Greece. Thank you to all the guest speakers that presented to our students.

Library News:
All books will be due May 7^th. The library will be undergoing preparations for the renovations of our new expanded library!

TCA Cub scouts will be collecting all unwanted school supplies working or not, to recycle and reuse. We will collect on the last two days of school.

We need bottle tops!

Mrs. Takada is planning an El Anatsui inspired art piece and needs metal scalloped-edge caps. (Not the screw-on type) El Anatsui is a Ghanaian sculptor know for his "bottle-top installations." You can see his work at the Denver Art Museum. Drop them off at the office anytime. She needs THOUSANDS so there is no deadline. Thank you for helping her in this endeavor.

The North elementary PTO wanted to take this opportunity to reach out to each of you in an effort to help the communication here at TCA. Our hope is that all communication from the PTO will be established via this E-mail and text reminder process. In order to hear from the PTO you MUST opt in to receive E-mails. Follow the quick instructions below to do so.

1.) On your browser go to the TCA home page - http://www.tcatitans.org/
2.) On the top bar click on "schools"
3.) Scroll down and click on "TCA NORTH ELEMENTARY"
4.) Scroll to the middle of the page and click on the blue box that says "parent organizations"
5.) Towards the bottom of this page you will see the "North elementary email opt-In form "
6.) Simply fill it out with a good E-mail address and a phone number IF you wish to receive texts.

Once we have E-mails they will be added to the PTO list and we will communicate with you that way.
