From The Principal's Desk

Come enjoy the CSP Dessert-Square Dance event this Friday evening, Nov. 2, 6:30 – 9:00 pm in the East gym. Bring your favorite dessert to share. Lively square dance callers will lead a variety of group dances. CSP staff and families are invited. Yee haw! 

Classes dismiss at noon on Thurs. Nov. 8 for staff in-service. Carpool at usual locations. Denim day for staff and students. Please be punctual for noon pick-up as the CSP carpool will go very quickly and our staff needs to return to the building for in-service. 

 

Online orders for Silver Graphics are due Wed.
Nov. 14
 in order to receive gifts for the holidays. Online ordering is easy!   shop.silvergraphics.com

TCA CORE VALUES: Core Values serve as a compass and guide for keeping TCA on its originally intended course in the present and future.

The Core Values are represented via parts of a tree: the Roots, Trunk, Branches, Leaves and Fruit.

TRUNK

INSTRUCTIONAL PHILOSOPHY

  • Trivium – the grammar, logic, and rhetoric developmental stages of learning
  • Lifelong pursuit of truth, beauty, and goodness
  • Literature and ideas that have survived the test of time

SOCRATIC APPROACH

  • The teacher masterfully guides learning through questioning.
  • The students do the work of learning and perform the act of knowing.
  • Seminar format is also used particularly in upper level inspirational subjects such as history, literature and science.

Each grade level will study 4 different Virtues in Action (VIA) character strengths this year. (See teacher’s newsletter.) 

Parents are encouraged to continue character discussions at home.
