TCA CORE VALUES &
TITAN'S CREED
TITAN’S CREED: Parents may find the Titan’s Creed link posted in the left menu of this CSP Newsletter.
- Gr. 1-2 students will recite the creed in class each week after the Pledge of Allegiance.
- Gr. 4-8 students will be asked to memorize the creed this semester.
TCA CORE VALUES: Each week please familiarize yourself with a section of the TCA Core Values noted here for your reference, helping you gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of this foundational TCA document, which was adopted and approved on Dec. 6, 2010. The Core Values serve as a compass and guide for keeping TCA on its originally intended course in the present and future.
CSP Gr. 8 Core Values & TCA Creed lesson
(Stefani Hille, teacher):
Using a diagram of a tree (on which the students drew their own roots and leaves), the class discussed what is the
- source of their foundation (i.e. family, education, religion, government)
- what provides them stability (specifically key relationships such as parents, teachers, coaches, friends)
- what specific experiences/activities frame their lives (such as sports, music, hobbies, school subjects)
- what fruit is produced as a result
After discussing the roots, trunk, and branches, Mrs. Hille posed this big question to the class:
-
If you have a deep foundation (roots),
-
and that foundation provides stability (trunk),
-
and that stability makes it possible for you to experience many facets of life (branches),
-
What fruit (leaves
) does your life have the potential to produce?
The JH students came up with the following responses:
Ability to learn, determination, perseverance, dedication, imagination, creativity, courage, unbreakable spirit, self-control, humility, positivity, balance
They tied this to the Titan's Creed and why the creed matters.
