A while back we gave you some search tips using reports filtering. We wanted to offer a further option for searching. PDF searching offers even more flexibility because you are not limited to a specific field or column. A PDF search will find the data set indicated wherever it occurs in the document. |
In our example, we are using List of Checks and Deposits, but you can use this in Disbursements or Receipts or any area of the program in which you run reports. In this particular area, the selection tab allows you to narrow or widen the scope of the report you generate. If you are trying to find something specific, it is often easiest to use ALL. |
Once you have set the selection tab broad enough to find what you are looking for, Create or Save your PDF report. |
Under the Edit drop down list, select Find and it will bring up the blue box as shown. |
You enter the data set you are looking for in the Find box, click Next and the search will proceed to the dataset and highlight it in blue.
You can use this functionality to search for amounts in the check register, dates in the check register. You can search in distribution reports for Invoice numbers. You can look for Batch numbers. You can search Receipt Reports for specific account numbers.
We hope this tip helps you find answers more easily.
