No Steelhead fishing, but, the Coho are coming!

Fall Trout can be epic.

Josh Linn can help us be less sad about  steelhead fishing closures on the Deschutes

Very soon, the river confluences will be stacked with coho waiting for that first freshet of fall.  Early fish are already arriving so the time to be ready is now! The Clackamas sports a large run of coho, usually ranging from 10,000 to 15,000 fish.

Coho not your bag?  Fall trout are going to be sensing the cooler weather coming soon and will stock up for the winter months.  Water that was too warm to fish, will cool, and trout fishing heats up the last month of the season!

Josh Linn from Royal Treatment can help you be successful this fall fishing season.

Josh Linn is one of our favorite presenters!  He's funny, disarming and full of great info on our favorite fisheries.  Josh can be found at Royal Treatment Fly Fishing in West Linn and can either guide you on a trip or help you find a guide for your adventure.

Cub Creek Restoration

Phase III

Once again, the chapter is leading an upper Clackamas habitat project in cooperation with Mt. Hood National Forest.

On the week of August 3rd, 860 logs were placed in Cub and Berry Creeks, just upstream from our work of the last 3 years.  Cub Creek is a critical tributary that provides cold water to help shelter juvenile coho, steelhead and chinook and provides spawning habitat.  We have 1 day left to place the big logs that will be scheduled as soon as fire season and helicopter availability permits.

Contractors:

Bio Habitats

Columbia Helicopters

Project Budget:

$640,000
