David Paul Williams, Author of Fly Fishing for Western Smallmouth
David Paul Williams: Smallmouth Fly Fishing on Oregon's Umpqua River

Author of Fly Fishing for Western Smallmouth

CRTU is pleased to have David Paul Williams presenting a program on Smallmouth Fishing on the Umpqua river.

David is a renowned author of several books and is one of the experts in Fly Fishing for western Smallmouth.

In addition to being The Write Realtor, David Paul Williams is a writing instructor, media presenter, flyfisherman and soccer referee. He has published hundreds of feature articles in national and regional magazines. He wrote on real estate law and flyfishing for the seattlepi.com, formerly Washington's oldest newspaper. He started fishing before he started kindergarten and spends time tossing flies anywhere there are fish. Williams has caught mackinaw in a September Wyoming mountain snowstorm, tricked Firehole River brown trout, hooked all five Pacific salmon species on a fly, done battle with "Mississippi steelhead," (that’s carp to those in the know) and worn out his wrist on Yakima River smallmouth. His book  Fly Fishing for Western Smallmouth (Stackpole Books) hit the market July, 2014.

Projects and Volunteer Opportunities

Steelhead Redd Surveys on the Molalla River

CRTU will once again team up with ODFW for spawning survey data in the Molalla.  This is a critical project

Surveys are walking and wadinjg surveys where we record steelhead spawning activity in the Table Rock Fork and N. Fork of the Molalla.  If you are interested, you must be able to wade in the water for up to a mile.  Training on data collection will be provided.

Contact David Tenney to get on the survey volunteer list.
