Cub Creek Phase II Restoration
Cub Creek Phase II is wrapping up for the season. As one of the TU restoration managers said "you've made a righteous mess out there!" Cub Creek is a stage 0 restoration. Since Cub was incised due to fire and logging practic es, it has become disconnected with the flood plain. Now, the creek has been redirected out on the flood plain and the old channel filled in for 3/4 of a mile from the confluence of the Clackamas. The project goal is to increase the spawning and rearing capacity in the upper Clackamas basin. Cub Creek is the first Stage 0 restoration in Mt. Hood National forest! Many thanks to the US Forest Service and our awesome project team that has made this happen:
Project Cost: $537,000
Contractor: Aquatic Construction
Grant Funders: Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board and US Forest Service Drinking Water Providers Fund.
USFS Project Lead: Kari McClellan
TU project Coordinator:
Terry Turner
