Rate UWG on Niche
UWG is asking faculty, staff, students and alumni to rate UWG on its
Niche profile.
Check out the reviews on UWG's profile and scroll to the bottom to write your own.
Changes in Employee Status
When a faculty, staff or temporary employee terminates employment with the university, department managers need to complete the
termination notification web form. Ideally, the form would be submitted as soon as the last day of employment is known, but it must be submitted no later than five days after the termination date. This form also needs to be submitted within 30 days for employees who change departments on campus.
OneUWG Contest Annoucement
The OneUWG Benevolence Fund was established by Dr. Micheal Crafton in 2017 as a means of helping UWG employees in times of financial crisis. So far the fund has distributed $3,500 to seven of our fellow faculty and staff members, with the majority of the requests being due to medical-related costs.
To continue this work, UWG needs your help. The program needs a new name and it needs donations. Because so many are confusing OneUWG with the system-wide OneUSG initiative, and the employee assistance portion of the name with actual employee assistance program benefits, there will be a contest to rename it with a name that is brief, memorable and relatable.
Ideas can be submitted
online or by paper ballot by noon on April 19.
Live voting for the final selection will take place during the Spring General Faculty Meeting on April 26 and at the Best of the West event on April 30. Dr. Crafton will announce the winner at the end of the Best of the West event. The person who submits the winning name will receive some Wolf swag.
All UWG employees can contribute to the benevolence fund formerly known as OneUWG to help colleagues in crisis. Please consider making a one-time donation or setting up an ongoing payroll deduction. For your convenience, a donation button has been added to the benevolence fund webpage that will go directly to the UWG Foundation with account information already populated.
Social Media Workshops
During the spring UWG social media workshops, best practices, accessibility, university social media policies and updates will be discussed. For more information on the social media policy, visit the
social media webpage. Student workers, graduate assistants or any other students who assist with social media should be encouraged to attend the workshop. If you have any questions, feel free to email
Melanie Fan. Click
