ONEUWG Naming Contest Results
The OneUWG Benevolence Fund was established by Dr. Micheal Crafton in 2017 as a means of helping UWG employees in times of financial crisis. Because so many are confusing OneUWG with the system-wide OneUSG initiative, and the employee assistance portion of the name with actual employee assistance program benefits, we're choosing a new name that is brief, memorable and relatable.

Live voting for the final selection will take place during the Best of the West event tomorrow, April 30. Dr. Crafton will announce the winner at the end of the event.

Bring your dollars and coins to vote for your favorite name. Jars labeled with finalist names will be set up at the event, and the jar with the most money wins. All of the funds will go to the benevolence fund.

The six finalists are: Wolves Helping Wolves, Help West, UWG Helping Paws, Howl for Help, WIN Fund (Wolf in Need) and TogetherWest.

FWSP Funding Form for 2019-20
The Federal Department of Education allocates a specific amount of Federal Work Study (FWS) funds to the University of West Georgia each year. UWG allocates those FWS funds to specific departments who are then responsible for hiring FWS-eligible students and utilizing all of the allocated FWS funds during the fall and spring semesters.

Departments that feel FWS funds could be utilized should complete and submit the funding request form by 5 p.m. on Friday, May 3.

Reminder for NSSE
Survey
Please encourage students to complete the NSSE survey. UWG wants to gauge students' experiences in college, both inside and outside the classroom, as well as faculty practices linked with high levels of learning and development using the NSSE and FSSE. The National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) will be open until mid-May. The Faculty Survey of Student Engagement (FSSE) runs through May 9. If you have questions, please contact Amanda Thomas at amandat@westga.edu or 678-839-6449.
