Due to the onerous nature and difficulty of compliance with the record keeping required by the Office of Planning and Budget, Georgia Technology Authority, and effectively immediately, UWG will no longer reimburse use of personal mobile phones for business purposes. Please refer to UWG Procedure 8.2.5, Cellular Telecommunication for information on procuring mobile devices. Please contact Rick Sears at 9-5353 with questions.

Temporary Signage Standards
This fall, Campus Planning and Facilities will introduce new university procedures regarding exterior signage on campus that will greatly improve UWG's image while facilitating a robust system for navigation and identification of buildings and campus amenities. A goal of the Exterior Signage Procedure is to reduce the number of yard signs and post banners on campus and to set standards regarding when and where temporary signs may be used. Objectives are to improve driver and pedestrian safety, minimize interference with grounds maintenance and reduce the overall sign clutter on campus.

While the policy is in development, there are two guideline documents regarding temporary signs for your reference. The No Signage Zone Standard indicates areas on campus where temporary signs may not be placed. Facilities staff may relocate or remove signs that do not comply with this standard. The Temporary Signage Standard provides guidance for departments installing various sign types on campus. Please share this information with persons in your area who are responsible for temporary signage. Please contact WIC@westga.edu with any requests or questions.

AIG Retirement Services
Cliff England and Chase Kulczak with AIG Retirement Services will be on campus for individual counseling sessions on Wednesday, Aug. 14. AIG is a participation company for the University System of Georgia Optional Retirement Plan (ORP) and Voluntary Retirement plans. Individual appointments will be held on the 1st floor of Aycock Hall in the conference room to discuss changes to ORP, 403(b), Roth 403(b) and 457(b). Click here to reserve an appointment.
