Change in pedestrian crossing
In conjunction with the City of Carrollton, a pedestrian scramble crossing has been implemented at the intersection of West Georgia Drive and University Drive (also known as the TLC or bookstore intersection) as of Friday, March 2.
A scramble crossing involves a phase in the signal timing when all traffic lights for vehicles are red and pedestrians can cross the intersection in any direction, including diagonally. During this phase, the walk signal will be illuminated for pedestrian traffic while motor vehicle traffic on both West Georgia Drive and University Drive will be stopped. All pedestrians must wait to cross the intersection until the WALK signal is illuminated. Those on bicycles should follow vehicular traffic laws, unless crossing during the scramble, in which case they should dismount and walk across.
This project is intended to get pedestrians efficiently and safely through the intersection and minimize the potential conflicts between pedestrians and motor vehicles at this busy intersection.

Georgia Power Cable Work
Georgia Power will begin cable work today on the north sidewalk of West Georgia Drive between Foster Street and the bookstore. Barricades and signs will be in place as sections of the sidewalk will be closed while work progresses. Pedestrians should use the sidewalk on the opposite side of the street. As always, pay close attention to all signs and detours.

During the week of March12, the Center for Business Excellence will offer Department Approver  training. Please log into DevelopWest to register.

Salary Administration
The Board of Regents (BOR) has approved a policy governing the administration of salary/compensation. In short, the policy requires the approval of the chancellor when the total of all pay increases in a fiscal year are greater than the threshold specified by the BOR. The threshold is determined each year by adding 10 percent to the maximum annual merit specified by the BOR.  For example, if the maximum merit is 3 percent, the cumulative threshold will equal 13 percent; therefore, pay increases totaling 13 percent or more would require the chancellor’s approval. For more information on the policy, please attend one of the town hall meetings listed above in important dates and deadlines.
