UWG recognized as a National College of Distinction
The University of West Georgia has been recognized among the nation's top universities in meeting student needs. Also, its business, nursing and education programs have been included among the country's most effective in a new publication from Colleges of Distinction.
Travel Policy Update
Effective October 1: While state travel regulations now allow first class or business class airfare for international flights including Alaska and Hawaii, the University System of Georgia does not permit first class travel unless the circumstances noted in Section 4.6.1 of the Business Procedures Manual are met. While the USG aligns its travel procedures with those of the State of Georgia, in this case the USG has elected to be more restrictive with respect to first class travel. The USG is committed to using its resources, regardless of fund source, in a fiscally prudent manner and believes first class travel, except for permissible circumstances, does not demonstrate appropriate stewardship of institutional funds.

As we continue to work toward a unified and professional image for UWG, we have created a new, standard UWG name tag. UCM has provided McEver's Awards the approved designs and dimensions for faculty, staff and student name tags. The ordering process is simple and ensures uniformity across the university. The Work West Bulletin
The Work West Bulletin will provide you with the information you need to get through your work week. This bulletin is a visually interactive way to share important dates, deadlines, policy changes, and training information all in one place. The Work West Bulletin will be published weekly on Mondays to all faculty and staff.
