Starry Night Presidential Gala
Sometimes, just a small amount of money can make a difference in whether or not students at the University of West Georgia can achieve their dreams and approach the careers they desire.

Despite the clouds and rain Saturday night, the stars shined for these students, as UWG and the community raised $77,446 in support of need-based scholarships.
UWG went Out of This World last week celebrating Homecoming 2019! Even before gameday, intergalactic events filled the calendars of students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the West Georgia community.

Earlier in the week, students were treated to the Wear Red Get Fed event and enjoyed a Glow in the Dark skate party. And the community was invited to watch the Glow Parade Thursday night.

The University of West Georgia broke ground Friday on what Interim President Dr. Micheal Crafton called a “life-changing beacon of higher learning.”

The Richards College of Business  celebrated the highly anticipated groundbreaking of Roy Richards Sr. Hall, named after Southwire Company LLC’s founder. Read the full story here.

College Restructuring Town Hall
There will be a campus-wide town hall to discuss the progress of the College Restructuring Committee in TLC 1303, Tuesday, Oct. 22, at 2 p.m.

In review, late in the spring of this year, there were discussions on the possibility of reorganizing some units within academic affairs.  These units included primarily the colleges that comprised the former College of Arts & Sciences. The committee is nearing the end of its work and would like to provide the opportunity for anyone on campus to offer feedback and to engage.

Fuel Card PIN Training
UWG has received new information from the Department of Administrative Services (DOAS) regarding revisions to the Statewide Fuel Card Standards and Guidelines for existing fuel PIN holders and the issuance of new PINs. All existing fuel PIN holders and prospective PIN holders must take/watch fuel card training video and complete the acknowledgment of Statewide Fuel Card Standards and Guidelines by January 2020.

Links to the training can be found on the Fleet Services website within Campus Planning and Facilities.  Once at the site, clicking on the WEX Fuel Card Training hyperlink will provide you the information you need to complete the required information.

A separate email will be sent to existing fuel PIN holders as a followup to this email.  Employees wanting or needing a fuel card PIN should follow the same links identified above to complete the training and request a PIN.
