Welcome Annalee Ashley

She brings a wealth of experience to her role at UWG, formerly serving in the office of the vice president for university advancement and external affairs at Georgia Southern University–responsible for overseeing university imperatives related to external, governmental and communication strategies. Annalee also spent several years on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., in pivotal assistantship roles to the Secretary of the U.S. Senate and to the U.S. Senate Committee on Rules and Administration. A natural at broadening her circle of colleagues and friends, Annalee hails from Social Circle, Georgia. You may contact Annalee at aashley@westga.edu.

TLC Solar Panel Shade
Planning and Construction Service is excited to announce the installation of a solar panel shade structure on the TLC third-
floor patio. The shaded area has been a long-term desire for the occupants and users of TLC. Our partnership with Solarize Carrollton-Carroll County fostered the collaboration allowing us to activate the patio for student, faculty and staff enjoyment and integrate a sustainable energy project for UWG. The panels should generate approximately 17 KW power to offset energy use in the building.
Material delivery began Thursday, Oct. 4, with project completion the first part of November.
The third-floor patio will be closed for the duration of the project and will be clearly marked as a construction zone. Only authorized personnel will be allowed in the area.

UWG Vendor Fair
You're invited to attend the UWG Vendor Fair, Oct. 12 at the Coliseum. Purchasing Services will hold a forum beginning at 2 p.m. Learn purchasing updates, ePro tips and participate in Jeopardy UWG style. Vendors will have tables in the concourse following the forum. Come interact with businesses in our community for goods and services available close to campus. Contact Purchasing Services with any questions.

Central Stores, Receiving & Delivery (CSR&D) will have reduced services on Oct. 12, in order to assist with the Vendor Fair. CSR&D will be receiving packages on Friday, Oct. 12, but will be unable to make deliveries. If your department is expecting a rush or perishable package, please make arrangements to pick the package up at Central Receiving before 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12. Email CSR&D with any questions or concerns.

Purchasing Services will also be closed beginning at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 12, to host the Vendor Fair. Email Purchasing with requests on Friday and a staff member will respond when the office reopens. Call 678-839-6410 with emergencies and your message will be forwarded.

Parking Decals
If not already paid, faculty/staff decal renewals are past due for the 2018-2019 academic year. Anyone owing the outstanding fee is subject to parking citations for failure to display a current decal. The renewal fee is $15–cash or check only. You may send a check via campus mail or drop by Parking and Transportation in Row Hall to pay. All checks should be made out to the University of West Georgia and have your employee ID number (917) listed on it. All full-time and part-time employees working more than 30 days are required to purchase a faculty/staff decal. Any outstanding parking fees and/or citations must be paid before the decal can be renewed.

Symposium on Restorative Practices
In recognition of National Conflict Resolution Day, the UWG Ombuds Office, in collaboration with other university departments, will host a Symposium on Restorative Practices, Oct. 15, 9 a.m.-noon in the Campus Center Ballroom. Learn more about restorative practices for the general public, for schools K-12 and within the criminal justice system. RSVP.

Marketplace-Type Listings
In order to comply with USG and UWG policy, an external Google Group has been created for marketplace-type listings such as vendor recommendations, items for sale/trade, animal adoptions, homes for rent/sale, etc. UWG email lists (all-employees,
all-faculty and uwg-items-of-interest) may not be used for marketplace-type listings. For more information about "Marketplace-type listings" and the UWG-Marketplace, see the UWG-Marketplace GuideIf you have any trouble subscribing to the group, please be sure to read the Marketplace Guide and then use the linked form to submit a
comment. You may also contact Craig Schroer or Meggie Miller for assistance.

Termination Notification Form
When a faculty, staff or temporary employee terminates employment
with the university, department managers must complete the  termination notification web form. Ideally the form would be submitted as soon as the last day of employment is known but needs to be submitted within 30 days for employees who change departments on campus.
