Victory Outreach Churches in Lira, Uganda are our base for ministry this year, with our hosts Apollo and Jacqueline Nyankori who will fill our cups with blessings with their servant hearts and all the work done to provide outreach opportunities while with them for 13 days.

Apollo has been using radio broadcasts in Lira for some time to share the Good News of Jesus to the entire region each week. 

 

As we did on our last mission, Gil and Randy hope to join him again to share the Word of God via this tool which is still widely listened to in Africa.

Our deep relationship with many of the Lira Bishops, Pastors and their wives started back in 2009 when Gil and I first launched Africa Hope Bible Institute in Lira, teaching new students the Word of God and preparing them for ministry.   

 

The Lira Pastor's Fellowship not only blessed the fledgling work but also agreed to teach the first year for no salary.

 

We look forward to conne cting with them again for mutual encouragement and prayers for the Kingdom expansion in Lira.

Last Mission we had the opportunity to speak to students of a High School boarding school at 6am.

Who starts school at 6am?

It was a glorious morning once we woke up, worshiped God together, shared the Gospel of Jesus and saw about 30 students call on the Lord for forgiveness and eternal life!  All Glory to God!

Joshua and Rebecca, who are resident missionaries in Kenya, have been discipling many young couples in Nairobi and taking them to  reach  the Maasai villages a couple hours south of the city.

 

This time, Joshua has agreed to join us in Uganda to continue the good work he has begun in Kenya and to connect him with our Ugandan ministry partners. 

 

Together we accomplish much more than working separately.

Our training and equipping of ~50 graduates of Africa Hope doesn't end at graduation.  We are returning again to prepare those available for new believer training - ensuring that the basic Biblical truths are imparted to those who are new to the faith.  Being grounded in Truth prevents them from stagnant growth in the faith or following false teachers.

 

 

One of my favorite outreaches is to the local hospitals.  I have been to the Lira Regional Hospital many times reaching those in times of their pain and suffering with the hope of the Good News of Jesus and prayers for healing.

 

We always bring practical gifts of food and other supplies that are much needed by these patients and their families.

 

It is also such a joy to often see patients and their families respond to the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus our Lord.
