March is a great time to plan for World Day of Prayer for Vocations (WDPV), which is Sunday, May 7th!!! Along with ideas from
www.vocationministry.com, visit
www.worlddayofprayerforvocations.com a website which has been dedicated to promote this day. The site has Pope Francis’ address for WDPV, bulletin blurbs, a resource packet, and an awesome color bulletin insert that can educate and inspire all parishioners.
Remember that the focus is on prayer:
New ministry (Phase I):
Bring awareness to this day, giving everyone the opportunity to pray through the bulletin or prayers of the faithful.
Established ministry (Phase II, III, or IV):
After the basics are covered, find a new way to promote prayer for vocations in your parish
- Create or download a banner to advertise the day
- Full-color Bulletin Insert
- Pass out Rosary Rings
- Start Traveling Chalice/Crucifix/Statue of the Holy Family
- Pass out Prayer Cards
- Start Adoration for Vocations
- Hold a Family Holy Hour for Vocations
Just pick one activity and do it
so well and with such joy that others will want to join you in your mission of creating a vocation-friendly environment.
