尊重體會他國文化 英語學習更到位-
In the 21st century, global business has become more important and more necessary for many countries and Taiwan is no exception. In fact, international employment has become increasingly competitive and international trade more demanding. As a former teacher in the United States, and now a teacher of applied English in Taiwan I, Mr. Jeff Merka, know all too well the importance and necessity for high school students to learn and master English. In order to succeed and thrive in this global community, English is still at the top of the list as the median language between most cultures.
In my classes, emphasizing all of these points, along with cultivating a well-balanced attitude towards others and life, I also encourage and demand that students learn to respect others and other cultures. If our planet is to continue to survive then it is up to ALL of us to mentor, encourage and civilize humanity starting with our youth and for us to foster their etiquette, attitude, academics and language skills.

語言學習多樣化 勇敢開口說出來
It is a big challenge for students’ in the English-speaking program at Yuda. How can they improve their speaking abilities, while still living in Taiwan? It’s not an easy task. The speaking class is putting more of an emphasis on speaking rather than on translation and textbooks. While they do have a textbook, teachers put an emphasis on pronunciation, body language, and speaking. Those methods are necessary, but the speaking class provides a time and situation to “put it all together.”
Students are using smart phones to send video presentations and dramas to express themselves and more formal speech presentations to use their English in practical everyday situations. This provides a variety of ways for the students to express themselves through English. Don’t have the fear of failure. You can do it. So get out there and speak. What are you waiting for? “The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”.
