Wynn Wynn Ong:
Redefining Boundaries |
|
|
Wynn Wynn Ong: Redefining Boundaries is a retrospective that celebrates the jewelry designer’s 15 years in fashion and design. For the first time, the museum’s Masters Gallery will showcase Ong’s works, which are celebrated for their craftsmanship and impeccable attention to detail. Highlights of the retrospective are Ong’s art jewelry, objets d’art, couture, collaborations with style brands, and home furnishings. Also on view are portraits of Ong’s muses in their fantasy alter-egos captured by model-photographer Jo Ann Bitagcol.
About the artist
Wynn Wynn Ong was born in Rangoon, raised in Vienna, and has lived in Manila for most of her adult life. Her works reflect her family of jewelry collectors and travelers and her continental upbringing. Ong started her career in 2001, when she designed pieces for herself that she could not find elsewhere. A lack of formal training was not an obstacle to her success as an internationally lauded artist whose works are now sought after by collectors.
Wynn Wynn Ong: Redefining Boundaries
is presented by Yuchengco Museum with the support of Wynn Wynn Ong Artisanal Works in celebration of Women's Month.
