Annette Reid
& JACK on Hiatus

Most of Hollywood is returning to work with the onset of the 2014 Network Television Season. But Annette Reid and her Production Company, JACK, worked all summer. So, August finds JACK on Hiatus.  Not to worry.  Work is still progressing on Lossed and Let Me Finishe-tuxedocat has all the details, as usual, and will fill you in as merrily we roll along.
  • Lossed, starring Annette Reid, is in the hands of the Composer Chris Piorkowski. Nothing is more exciting than watching a film evolve and the addition of music is always the best last step. Look for the finished film in the coming weeks.
  • Let Me Finish, produced by the industrious Annette Reid, is still in the editing bay. JACK is hoping for a rough cut by the middle of September.  What?! That's only 2 weeks from now. Where has the time gone?? Sigh!
    On the Set of Lossed

As you can see, work is progressing, but Jens, Annette, Carlos, and Kent need not be present to win.  So each is off to various parts of the world for a bit of rest and relaxation.  Annette, herself, is off to Ohio these last few days of August to visit friends and family.  Just in time for a little Buck-Eye Football, eh?  And showing her husband her old stomping grounds.  Refuel, my friend, as it looks to be a terrific season ahead.

Salutations,

FILM FESTIVAL BOUND

JACK is pleased to announce that Art Galleries and Back Alleys, produced by Annette Reid and directed by Carlos Carrasco, is being considered for the NewFilmmakersLA Best of 2013 Awards for Best Short Documentary.
This film chronicles the artistic process as two Chicano visual artists representing two different generations of an art movement collaborate in the transformation of a hybrid vehicle into a piece of art.  The project was sponsored and housed at Self-Help Graphics, an East Los Angeles community-based artists' cooperative with a 40 year history of fostering, training and housing visual artists from multiple disciplines while mentoring youth from the community.  The humor and natural chemistry between aerosol artist Vyal Reyes and installation artist Patssi Valdez make for an enjoyable visit while watching their process unfold.  Click for information regarding the NewFilmmakersLA Festival

Annette Gears Up for Race for the Cure 2015

As Treasurer of the Board of Directors for the Los Angeles Chapter of the Susan G.
Komen Foundation, Annette Reid is preparing for a Day Retreat on September 6th.  This is a key day in the strategic planning for the Los Angeles Affiliate, right before the Race Committee kicks off planning for the next Race for the Cure, to be held March 7th, 2015  That's a Saturday.  As a Board Member, Annette is required to
collect $5000 in pledges and funds.  So, keep an eye out for her pledge page, coming to a website near you.  Don't worry though.  Annette always meets her Quota.  And then some. In the meantime, tune in to Annette's V-Log where she presents her own version of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.  By the way -  Thanks, Annette!  We appreciate your hard work for all the women and others who are or have been affected by this horrible disease.  Keep at it!
